The FIDE Early Career Fellowships (“Young FIDE”) Seminar will take place in Helsinki on 19 May 2027, as part of the XXXII FIDE Congress. Early-career scholars and practitioners in EU law are invited to submit papers related to the Congress’s three main themes: EU financing and budgeting, external borders and fundamental rights, and strategic autonomy and European industrial policy.
The call is open to PhD candidates, post-doctoral researchers, other junior researchers, and EU law practitioners with fewer than five years of professional experience, all under the age of 35. Applicants must submit an English-language abstract of no more than 500 words and a CV by 1 December 2026 to fide2027(at)helsinki.fi.
Up to nine authors will be selected to submit a full paper and present it at the seminar. Participation in the Young FIDE Seminar is free of charge, and selected presenters will benefit from a reduced registration fee for the FIDE Congress. Selected papers may also be published in an abridged form in a special 2027 issue of the EU Law Live Weekend Edition.
Further information and updates are available on the FIDE Congress Website.
